Anke Preuss to leave Liverpool Women as contract expires

Goalkeeper Anke Preuss is leaving Women’s Super League side Liverpool as her contract has expired.

Preuss, 28, joined the Reds in 2018 from Sunderland and earned 31 caps in her time at the club.

She said:  "One of the great attributes of this club is its fan base. I just personally want to say thank you to all of you for supporting us throughout the years.

"My time here has ended but I'm proud to have been able to play for you guys. All the best to all the girls for the upcoming season."

And manager Vicky Jepson added: "Myself and all our backroom staff would like to thank Anke for the professional, hard-working attributes she brought to our team over the last two years.

"I'm sure all our LFCW fans will join me in thanking Anke for her time at the club and wish her the best of luck for the future.”

It has not been confirmed where she will play next season.
