Olympic boxing medallist Anthony Ogogo answers call for NHS volunteers

Olympic medallist Anthony Ogogo has volunteered for the NHS just hours after Heath Secretary Matt Hancock pleaded for thousands of volunteers.

In the Government's daily coronavirus briefing, Hancock asked for 250,000 people to volunteer due to the strain the health service is under at the moment.

Ogogo, who won a boxing bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics, revealed on Twitter that he had signed up to help.

He wrote: "I’m all signed up. NHS I’m at your service"

Darren Young, a medallist at the 2018 Invictus Games, replied: "Where will you be working mate? I'm on the staff at St George's hospital if you are there give me a text."
