England to begin defence of 50-over World Cup against Australia

England will kick off the defence of their 50-over Women's World Cup title against rivals Australia on Sunday, February 7 2021.

Heather Knight's side lifted the trophy as hosts back in 2017 after defeating India by nine runs at Lord's.

And England will now look to win back-to-back trophies for the first time in their history when they get their campaign underway in New Zealand in the early part of next year.

They will take on Australia in Auckland before taking on a pair of qualifiers.

Their match against the Kiwi hosts will take place in Christchurch on February 28, just a week before the final.

Australia will be looking to win a second World Cup title in 12 months after they secured the T20 trophy earlier this month.
