Darts star Fallon Sherrock books place on US Darts Masters in New York after historic win as Barry Hearn says 'it's a game-changing moment'
Ally Pally star Fallon Sherrock has been booked on the US Darts Masters in New York after her historic victory.
The 25-year-old became the first women to progress to the second round of the World Championships after beating Ted Evetts.
She has now been propelled into stardom with major stars congratulating her on the win, including Phil Taylor and Billie Jean King.
Her stunning performance has now got her on the roster for the two-day tournament which takes place on June 5-6 in Madison Square Garden.
Sherrock tweeted about the announcement, saying: "This is amazing.... I cannot believe this is all happening. New York here I come, Thank you @OfficialPDC"
The Professional Darts Corporation chairman, Barry Hearn, said: "We live in a big world and Fallon's victory has become mainstream news, rather than sports news.
"The first woman to do something is always news because it's a breakthrough moment for the sport. You couldn't write that type of drama. I think it is a game-changing moment.
"Fallon will get the dream ticket in terms of an invitation to the World Series of Darts in the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, New York.
"That's going to be massive news around the world, particularly in America, and the message is clear to other women; if you're good enough, opportunities exist or will be created.
"She's going to have the dream scenario there and who knows where it builds from there."
