Queen of the Palace Fallon Sherrock says her gender is no longer relevant after strong debut in Premier League Darts

Fallon Sherrock, who was back on centre stage making her Premier League debut this week, believes her gender is no longer what people are talking about.

Sherrock drew 6-6 with three-time BDO world champion Glen Durrant in a match she coud have won, leading 6-4 in the latter stages. But Durrant rallied to end things all-square.

The 25-year-old, who won over the the public in December becoming the first female to win a match at the PDC World Championship, told BBC Radio 5 Live: "They aren't thinking [about] a woman playing a man. They are seeing them playing a good game on TV."

She admitted that the focus on gender had been somewhat off-putting, adding: "I feel I can concentrate a bit more on playing darts now people are just seeing an equal playing field."

After her match with Durrant, she said: "I was a bit more prepared regarding the pressure and interviews.

"The atmosphere was the same as when I played Alexandra Palace but I felt more prepared than when I jumped in at the deep end at the Worlds."
