Bristol City manager Tanya Oxtoby labels her side's humiliating FA Cup defeat at Ashton Gate 'unacceptable'
Bristol City manager Tanya Oxtoby has called her side's performance 'unacceptable' after they lost 5-0 to Everton in the FA Cup in front of a home crowd at Ashton Gate.
Oxtoby also lamented her team's injury crisis as being 'beyond a joke'.
She said: "It's unacceptable, it's really disappointing from my perspective especially when we had such a good crowd come and support us. That level of application isn't acceptable.
"Our injury list is getting beyond a joke now. We've lost both centre-halves, one before the game and one five minutes in. We've got two right-backs player centre field, from my perspective I don't know how much more I can do."
The stadium welcomed 1,889 fans for their defeat last night and Oxtoby praised the supporters for coming down to watch.
"Yeah it was fantastic. They are always here in big numbers and support us really well," she added.
"I want to apologise to them really because they've come out, they've been really loud and the performance hasn't matched the level of dedication that they showed tonight. Fingers crossed they come back and we can put that right next time."
