Liverpool manager Vicky Jepson has said her side are in 'desperate' need for training equipment to use in lockdown.

Former Arsenal and England player Alex Scott highlighted the problem women's football is facing last week and even suggested female players were being 'ignored' during the coronavirus pandemic.

Arsenal star Beth Mead made a plea on social media for a bike to use in lockdown and Jepson has echoed the struggles among her own team.

"We have sent some of the girls' equipment to help support them through the programmes.

"The physical performance coach has been doing a lot of body weight circuits on video. We have sent all the girls resistance bands and they have skipping ropes in the post on their way to them.

"Some of the girls have bikes and those that haven't, we are desperate for them. We have phoned around and managed to get hold of them. It's difficult because everyone in the country is on lockdown so we have had to adapt," she told the BBC.

The Women's Super League is currently suspended due to the pandemic and The Reds have eight games left to play.
