Manchester United's star striker Lauren James has suffered a foot injury.

The club confirmed James was sidelined but didn't say for how long.

They tweeted: "We're wishing a speedy recovery to @LaurenJamess22, who has sustained a foot injury and will enter a period of rehabilitation with medical staff at the club."

James responded: "Be back stronger than ever."

The last time James played for United was in their Women's Super League match against Brighton on February 12.

United's next match is on March 22 against West Ham.
