Spurs star Son Heung-min urges South Korean fans to not leave their homes to see him at military service
Tottenham player Son Heung-min has deterred his fans in South Korea from leaving their home to watch him complete military service.
Son will undertake the service behind closed doors and will keep all the details secret in a bid to keep people in their homes.
He has also discouraged people waving him off. The 27 year-old will start his military training later this month in Jeju Island before returning to London next month.
The Spurs favourite has been inundated with requests from national and local media since he confirmed he will be in the country.
A statement released on his Facebook page read: "Due to the Covid-19 situation, we need to restrain ourselves from a large gathering.
"To co-operate with the government's policy for Covid-19, Son has decided to join the training 'not open to the public'.
"To prevent any more harm from Covid-19, please restrain yourself from coming on-site to see Son."
