Tottenham boss Robert Vilahamn signs new contract, saying ‘the future is bright’

Tottenham boss Robert Vilahamn is looking forward to being part of what he believes will be “a bright future” for the Women’s Super League side after signing a new contract extension.

The 41-year-old Swede is now tied to Spurs until 2027 having initially signed a two-year deal when replacing Rehanne Skinner in July last year.

The former Hacken head coach guided Tottenham to a top-six finish in the WSL for just the second time last season and they also reached the FA Cup final for the first time.

Vilahamn told the club’s official website: “It was a year full of fun for me as a coach, I have met so many cool people, so many players but also found a collaboration where they buy into it and I’m buying into the culture here.

“We are learning from each other, the relationship with staff members and key players, to then reach Wembley and see that we can beat good teams, but also see the fanbase at that game, showing we are growing with our supporters as well.

“It has been exactly what I want and that’s why I want to stay here because it feels we can keep going as we can build an even stronger team and a stronger fanbase. The future is bright for Spurs.”

Tottenham finished sixth in the WSL table last season, four points behind fifth-placed Manchester United, against whom they lost 4-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley in May.
