Women's Super League side Birmingham City arranged for a schoolgirl who had been bullied to meet her favourite player.

The young girl, called Lauren, was invited behind the scenes at the club after they found out a group of boys at her school had called her names for wanting to play football.

And there she met her favourite, England's Lucy Staniforth and her reaction to meeting the star was caught on video.

A clip in the video shows City's captain Kerys Harrop giving Lauren some advice in the face of adversity.

Harrop said: "All I would say is don't let them get the better of you and anytime someone puts you down, you can use that as motivation to prove them wrong."

Lauren then had a kick-about with Staniforth at City's training ground before having a selfie with the entire team.
