Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has hailed the Black Lives Matter movement as something which is changing people’s views for the better.

Premier League clubs have publicly supported the campaign by wearing ‘Black Lives Matter’ on the back of all players shirts for the first 12 games of the re-started season.

And all matches so far have begun with all those on the pitch dropping to one knee as a sign of solidarity.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Santo said: "We are at the beginning of something. It is very difficult to change culture and very difficult to change feelings.

"A lot of people are changing, which is a good sign. All the generations are asking themselves now that, what they did in the past, maybe they could do it in a different way. That is a sign of difference.

"This is not the moment to stop. It will take time but humanity will eventually reach this point among us.

"It is very difficult for me because I don't feel it. I come from a mixed race family. It is something that is a big mess in my head that people can see difference among us.

"The message is clear. It is not about race. It doesn't have anything to do with being white, black, Hispanic, Asian or African. It is about equal rights."

Santo is the only BAME manager currently in the Premier League and one of just six from the 91 teams in England’s top four divisions.

Wolves resumed their league campaign with a comfortable 2-0 win over West Ham, followed up by a 1-0 win against Bournemouth on Wednesday night.

Santo’s side currently sit sixth in the table, just two points off of the top four and what would be a historic Champions League qualification spot.
