Former England netball coach Tracey Neville says that the Vitality Superleague will need to return to normal once the season resumes.

The Superleague was suspended in March in the middle of round four due to the coronavirus outbreak, and it has now been postponed until the end of April.

And Neville, who managed the Roses from 2015-2019, believes franchises could collapse if the league is cut short when it resumes. 

She told Sky Sports: "I do really hope that they try not to cut short the season and they do try and play the season out.

"My worry is for the franchises, because they all work on ticketing revenue and the more games that are played, the more revenue they can generate. To see a decrease in netball at this particular time, when it's on the rise, would just be devastating."

And Neville knows how important it is to keep the franchises up and running as she used to coach Manchester Thunder for four years, before she took on her role with England.

"The Superleague cannot see a decrease in its competition without it having an impact financially.

"They need to make the revenue to be able to keep them going next year and to pay contracted players because now these players are now employed," she added.
