Ladies European Tour Order of Merit to be re-named 'Race to Costa Del Sol' and boasts €250,000 bonus prize

The Ladies European Tour Order of Merit will be replaced by the Race to Costa Del Sol from next year.

There will also be a bonus prize fund of €250,000 (£215,000), meaning the top player receives £107,000, the runner-up £64,000, and third £43,000.

The Andalucia Costa del Sol Open, which starts on Thursday, will also see its prize money doubled for 2020.

The event will now have €600,000 (£514,000) on offer for next year's competition.

English golfer Meghan MacLaren is the best placed British player in the Order of Merit standings as they head to Spain, while Norway's Marianne Skarpnord leads the way.

The men's European Tour Race, which finished in Dubai last week, was won by Spain's Jon Rahm.

The world number three collected a grand total of $2 million (£1.56m).
