Britain's Jamie Chadwick wins inaugural W Series title with fourth-place at Brands Hatch

British driver Jamie Chadwick has won the first ever W Series after a fourth-place finish in the final race of the season at Brands Hatch.

The 21-year-old slipped from her pole position at the start as fellow UK racer Alice Powell took victory from Finland's Emma Kimilainen.

But with Chadwick's title rival Beitske Visser only managing third on the day, the Brit ended the season a full ten points ahead of her closest challenger in the overall standings.

The Bath-born youngster continues to make a name for herself after her eye-catching performance last year when she became the first woman to win a race in Formula 3.

As a result of the victory Chadwick continues to rise up the ranks in her development deal with Williams, particularly after her win in the all-female single-seater racing championship.

She also picked up £410,000 in prize money.

The historic win begs the question - how long will it be before we see her in Formula 1?
