The 43 year-old, who stepped down as the Roses' boss last year after their World Cup campaign in Liverpool, revealed the news on social media on Thursday evening.

In her post, she said the baby had been named Nev, while also taking the time to thank those who helped her at the Lancashire Newborn Centre.

Speaking on Twitter, she said: "Our little boy ‘Nev Geoffrey Timmins’ was born on 03/03/20.

"Thank u for the love & support I have received. To Lancashire Newborn Centre, u were exceptional in your care and 2 the special people, consultants, midwifes & health care workers who looked after me."

England netball star Helen Housby, who shone under Neville at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, congratulated her coach by posting: "So incredibly happy for you @traceynev."
