Sky Sports and BT Sport told by Premier League to avoid asking managers and players news-related questions amid coronavirus crisis

Sky Sports and BT Sport have been told by the Premier League to avoid asking players and managers about the suspension of the season or how it is affecting their team.

According to Sportsmail, an email was sent by Sky bosses to staff telling them to avoid 'news' related enquiries when talking to people at the clubs.

It says: "It’s clear that the Premier League will revoke access if we do not stick to these guidelines. The interviews have been agreed on the grounds that they are part of the football contract; access is intended to be fun and relaxed.

"Clubs are extremely nervous about putting anyone up (for interview) at the moment so we must stick to the following processes.

"We should avoid 'news' interviews as much as possible."

The Premier League suspension runs until April 30 although all 20 clubs met last week and decided it was unrealistic that football will resume at the beginning of May.
