Reading and England player Jade Moore signs for NWSL side Orlando Pride

England and Reading midfielder Jade Moore has signed a one-year contract with National Women's Soccer League side Orlando Pride.

Moore played for Reading 54 times in the three years she spent at the Women's Super League club.

She also represented England at the 2014 and 2019 World Cups.

Moore will join Pride, which has US stars Ashlyn Harris, Ali Krieger and Alex Morgan in its ranks, when the 2020 season begins. The opening weekend was due to take place on April 18 but this has been delayed due to coronavirus.

“I think one of the biggest things for me is that this is a fresh challenge, a new league. Back in the UK, I’ve played in the league for over a decade and you kind of get used to the same things, the same teams, the same player pool," she told the Telegraph

"I’m really excited about coming overseas, and taking [myself] out of my comfort zone to play against different players and against the best in the world. When this came about, it ticked every single box of what I wanted at the next part of my career.”

Pride's head coach, Marc Skinner, said: "Simply put, Jade is the complete midfielder. She possesses a great skill to travel quickly in small spaces; control the pace of the game.

"Her ability to not only read the game well but [to] destroy attacks before they start will bring a much needed dynamic to our midfield. We’re very excited to bring her into the club and look forward to seeing her in purple when we get back to play.”
