Champion jockey Bryony Frost has said she doesn't want 'special concessions' because she's a woman

Champion jockey Bryony Frost has said she doesn't want 'special concessions' in the sport just because she is a woman.

Frost became the first woman to win a Grade One race at Cheltenham when she steered Frodon to victory in the Ryanair Chase.

“I’ve always said if you’re a boy or a girl, your horse doesn’t know. It’s the way you ride.

“I don’t want special concessions. What I believe is, doesn’t matter who you are, if you’re good enough you’ll go somewhere,” she told The Telegraph.

Southwell racecourse held an all-female racecard to mark International Women's Day yesterday, when Frost won two races.

She said the only difference was that being all women, it was quieter.

“It’s no different. I’m still coming here to win races. It’s still the same craic in a win. Just a bit quieter without the lads in there.”
