Bianca Andreescu extends unbeaten run to 17 to reach China Open quarters

Canada's Bianca Andreescu has extended her unbeaten run to 17 matches after she defeated Jennifer Brady to progress to the quarter-finals of the China Open.

Andreescu won the first set 6-1 but the second was more closely fought. The pair were three games apiece but the Canadian stole the show to win in straight sets.

Andreescu joins Ashleigh Barty, Petra Kvitova, Daria Kasatkina, Caroline Wozniacki, Elina Svitolina, Kiki Bertens and Naomi Osaka in the next round in Beijing.

The 19-year-old recently said that she has "forgot how to lose". The youngster beat Serena Williams last month to claim the US Open title.

Andreescu will be facing Naomi Osaka in the quarter-final. Osaka also won her last 16 match in straight sets.
