Ally Pally hero Fallon Sherrock handed challenger place for 2020 Premier League Darts

Fallon Sherrock has been given a challenger place for the upcoming season of Premier League Darts.

The 25-year-old, who made history by becoming the first woman to win a match at the PDC world championships last month, is one of nine players named as challengers for the event.

The Premier League kicks off in Aberdeen on February 6 and will see the top nine players in the world joined by one challenger each week.

Sherrock will appear in the Nottingham event on February 13 as she looks to build on her tremendous run to the third round at Alexandra Palace.

Scottish player John Henderson has been announced for the Aberdeen leg of the competition, but the challengers for the other seven events are yet to be revealed.

The biggest names to qualify automatically include new world champion Peter Wright, defending Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross.

The other five players to make up the top nine are Michael Smith, Gary Anderson, Daryl Gurney, Nathan Aspinall and Glen Durrant.
