Australia's Alyssa Healy smashes previous T20 record with sensational 148 not out against Sri Lanka

Australian batter Alyssa Healy set a new T20 world record with an unbeaten 148 against Sri Lanka at the North Sydney Oval.

The sublime innings came off just 61 balls and included the fastest half century by an Australian, getting there after facing only 25 deliveries.

And her century - 21 balls later - was the second fastest in the history of the game as she closed two shy of 150 having put away 19 fours and seven sixes.

Afterwards, Healy told Fox Cricket: “It was just one of those days where everything seemed to come out of the middle, so I’ll take that."

Healy broke the previous record with a six straight down the ground, surpassing fellow countrywoman Meg Lanning's 133.

The Aussies finished on 226/2 and Sri Lanka could only muster 94/7 in response, meaning the 2018 T20 World Cup winners ran out the victors by 132 runs.
