England cricket captain Heather Knight is still confident her team can have success at the T20 World Cup despite being beaten by South Africa in their opening game.

Knight's side lost to South Africa by six wickets in a thrilling contest to kick off their campaign in disappointing fashion.

But the Plymouth-born batter remains upbeat about England's chances of going far in the one-day tournament in Australia.

Speaking to BBC Test Match Special, she said: "We've got to park it and move on quickly.

"We fought really hard but it didn't quite come off for us. It was quite a tight game, so that will take a lot out of us.

"It's not panic stations - far from it. It could easily have gone the other way and we know that we've got a lot more to give.

"There are a lot of teams that can win this World Cup. Every team has match-winners."

England's next game is against Thailand on Wednesday, before their final two group matches with Pakistan and West Indies.
