WATCH: South Africa ease past Pakistan to reach semi-finals of T20 World Cup

South Africa reached the semi-finals of the Women's T20 World Cup for the second time in their history after beating Pakistan by 17 runs.

Laura Wolvaardt starred for South Africa as she hit 53 not out to help her team to 136-6 on a difficult batting pitch in Sydney.

In response, Pakistan never looked in any danger of claiming victory despite Aliya Riaz's 39 runs off just 32 balls.

South Africa reduced their opponents to just 119-5 and in doing so picked up their third victory from three games to reach the semi-finals for just the second time in seven tournaments.

They join India in the last four, who are the only other team to have qualified through the group stages so far.

England will join South Africa and India if they beat West Indies later today, while Australia and New Zealand will battle it out for the final spot.

Both semi-finals will take place on Thursday, March 5.
