England football's Izzy Christiansen is close to signing for Women's Super League club Everton.

The midfielder currently plays at Lyon, alongside fellow Lioness Lucy Bronze, but is increasingly frustrated by limited playing time.

Christiansen also plays with England's Alex Greenwood and Nikita Paris at the French club.

The former Manchester City player's contract runs out next summer but is said to be near a deal with fifth-in-the-league Everton.

The Merseyside club is where Christiansen first played senior football.

The 28-year-old missed out on the World Cup this summer due to a thigh injury she sustained after recovering from ankle surgery.
