New Zealand make history as they become back-to-back Dubai Sevens champions
New Zealand have made history by becoming the first team ever to win back-to-back series titles at the Dubai Sevens.
The Black Ferns beat Canada 19-14 in the final after trouncing the USA 24-7 in their semi-final.
Canada reached the final, that was watched by a 40,000 strong crowd, after beating Australia 26-12.
Stacey Waaka was named player of the match in what has been an impressive series for the centre.
She said afterwards: "I'm stoked the girls came out hissing. Yesterday I said we were gutted about the loss, so to come out and put in a performance like that is amazing."
Canada's captain Ghislaine Landry said: "It wasn't the result we wanted but it was a great game and a great final for us."
