Tottenham host Liverpool for the first time ever in the Women's Super League

Tottenham and Liverpool will both be seeking their first victories of the season when they meet at The Hive Stadium this afternoon.

Neither side managed to score on the opening weekend as they both suffered 1-0 defeats against Chelsea and Reading.

It is the first time Spurs will face the Reds in the Women's Super League following their promotion last season.

74 mins: Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

Chloe Peplow the latest woman to go down with an injury. But like the rest of the knocks which have been picked up this afternoon, she's carrying on.

SUBSTITUTION

Lucy Quinn comes on for Kit Graham as Spurs look to see out an historic win.

Graham has been excellent today. Brought Ayane and Furness in to play brilliantly.

76 mins: Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

Liverpool need to offer something here. They have nothing to lose so why not go for broke?

Spurs are keeping the ball with ease right now. They should be working a lot harder for their first WSL win, but right now it's comfortable.

81 mins: Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

CHANCE!

Furness finds space and slides in Davison who rips in an aggressive shot towards the top corner but Preuss is equal to it.

Spurs look much more like netting a second than Liverpool do of drawing level.

84 mins: Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

The atmosphere has gone up a notch again as the home fans realise the history they are witnessing here.

Five minutes to go and they'll have a first ever top flight victory.

They can almost taste it.

85 mins: Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

Quinn brings the ball down beautifully on her thigh and charges at the Liverpool defence.

She can't pick out a pass though, and Liverpool can try to force a leveller.

But they gift it away yet again in midfield - something which has typified their problems this afternoon.

87 mins: Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

Three minutes of normal time to play.

Is there going to be a late twist?

89 mins: Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

I just cannot see any way Liverpool are going to score.

SUBSTITUTION

Rianna Dean has come on to replace Rosella Ayane who has also been superb.

She deserved a goal for her performance today. Probably would have got one if Niamh Fahey didn't drag her down...

90 mins: Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

It will be four minutes of added time.

Liverpool look like they could play another 90 and still not score.

90 +1mins: Tottenham 1-0 Liverpool

DISALLOWED GOAL

Spurs have the ball in the net through substitute Rianna Dean, but it's offside.

Clear as day, that one.
